Many called it a must-visit, and I never quite understood why—until I went. Now, I completely get it.
Osaka > Kyoto

We started our journey slightly later than usual. Took our time and had breakfast in the hotel, it was drizzling.
Shinkansen 🚄 tix were bought the night before. Many timing to choose from, it was only 16minutes from Osaka. Wanted to have experience having bento on train, but the train ride is a little too short for us to do so 🤪

It feels like the modern and past holding hands. We go through the neighborhood to reach our ryokan for the night.
The houses were well-kept, people were moving about gentle without disturbing the stillness. What a vibe.

It was a very basic ryokan that we’ve checked in. No smart TV, but it’s clean and neat. Most hotels in Japan check-in time are in evening (3/4PM). We arrived around 1PM, and thank God the room is ready. Took a quick break and head to Nishiki Market.

Satisfying my don craving in the market. But it was a little not up to par 💬 the uni skewers stepped up.

Had so many different food that I craved for here than in the market in Osaka.

Imma strong believer of Malaysian style curry, so Japanese’s curry bread? I DID NOT TRY.
Stairs to the bed for the night

I love how authentic this ryokan is with nostalgic atmostphere. but Ed would love a nice bed and a smart TV LOL.

Now, off to Arashiyama next.
